Git 101 Workshop this weekend

Hi all, The CS Club is hosting a Git 101 workshop this Saturday (Sept 21) and Saturday (Sept 22) at 12 PM in QNC 1502. The workshop spans two days with the first day covering Git basics such as add, commit, diff, log, GitHub Basics, etc. The second workshop will cover advanced topics like branching, merging, merge conflicts, feature branch workflow, etc. If you are familiar with Git basics, feel free to only attend the second workshop. Mozilla OSSN + Git September

Hi all, Our Computer Science Club is now a member of Mozilla's OSSN <https://ossn.club/> (Open Source Student Network). OSSN is a network of university students and clubs who believe that open source is the engine that powers innovation. As a part of the network, we get a lot of benefits: * All CSC members can connect with other club members of participating clubs <https://ossn.club/clubs> using the OSSN slack * There is a jobs and internships board * The fixme app <https://fixme.ossn.club> lets people find actively maintained open source projects To get the most of it, sign up on https://ossn.club and join our club <https://ossn.club/clubs/15>. We are also organizing Git September <https://events.mozilla.org/ossngitseptember>, as it will be highly beneficial for first year students and beginners for contributing to open source projects, and participating in Hacktoberfest. Fall 2019 Elections

Greetings programmers, The Computer Science Club will be holding elections for fall 2019 term on Thursday, September 12th in MC Comfy (MC 3001) at 19:00. During the meeting, the president, vice-president, treasurer and assistant vice-president (formerly secretary) will be elected, the sysadmin will be ratified, and the librarian and office manager will be appointed. If you'd like to run for any of these positions or nominate someone, you can write your name on the whiteboard in the CSC office (MC 3036/3037) or send me (Rajat) an email at cro(a)csclub.uwaterloo.ca. Every effort will be made to note down whiteboard nominations, but it is highly recommended to send me an email in addition to writing on the whiteboard. You can also deposit nominations in the CSC mailbox in MathSoc or present them to me in-person. Nominations will close at 18:00 on Wednesday, September 11th.
