A diversity of (unclassified or declassified!) topics to be discussed will include CSE itself yesterday and today, understanding the essence and scope of CSE's mandates, understanding the Canadian Intelligence and Security organizations, the various fields of mathematics which are of potential benefits to cryptology, the benefits of computational mathematics and optimization, understanding the bigger picture in terms of emerging technologies and organizational priorities, factors that motivate and inspire a crypto-mathematician in his or her career at CSE, the breadth and depth of analysis/development/research, the global reach of the 5-Eyes partnership and cooperation, recruitment and development of new technical job descriptions while in management, on-the-job training and mentoring, NSA's Cryptologic Mathematics Program, Integration Opportunities, etc. As well, a few thoughts will be shared about today's CSE and cyberspace. Finally, the speaker will talk about his cryptologic hobbies especially since he retired from CSE in 2011, as well as sharing a developing story about CSE and its cryptologic artifacts. If you are eager to apply the mathematical skills you have acquired to unique, challenging problems with meaningful impact, the Communications Security Establishment (CSE) will be giving an information session which should interest you. CSE is hiring mathematicians with a strong research and development background to work on teams solving challenging applied problems in the fields of cryptology, data mining and computational statistics. We are looking for creative people who have graduate degrees in a science discipline (mathematics, computer science, physical science, life science, applied science, engineering, etc.) and have demonstrated the skills necessary to use both sophisticated mathematical techniques and state-of-the-art computers to perform innovative applied research and development. In addition, we will talk about opportunities for undergraduate students either for co-op terms or full-time positions. The Research and Innovation Branch of Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (OMAFRA) operates a Web based Research Management System (RMS) through which it administers research program calls, monitors research projects, and stores research applications and project reports. The RMS is a tool developed for OMAFRA by Smart Simple Software Inc. The RMS has more than 2,500 research projects in its repository. OMAFRA is in need of a person experienced in the use of Smart Simple's research management tool to serve as the RMS Minor Repairs/Services Contractor for a period of six months. Work will start as soon as possible (as early as April 25, 2016). The work will end on September 30, 2016, or when the maximum number of service hours has been reached, whichever comes first. The hourly rate for RMS Minor Repairs/Services Contractor is $50 per hour. This is a non-employee, service contract with a maximum allowable contract time of 400 hours. The Master of Management of Applied Science or MMASc Program at Western (previously called the University of Western Ontario) is a one-year Professional master's degree designed to help students with an undergraduate degree in science make the leap into industry. As a student in our program you will develop the management and communications skills you need to succeed in corporate Canada while extending your field-specific expertise. We’re building a minimum viable product (MVP) for a financial technology concept that will provide a scalable solution for our client base. We’re looking for 2 things: 1. An experienced developer that can implement and finish projects on time. 2. A developer who can strip away features in the app’s core to get the first iteration up and working in 3 to 4 weeks.
