We were in your shoes. The assignments, the exams, the hundreds of pizzas
and kimchi noodles - and of course sleepless nights in the DC and MC. We've
been there and we know you have too - that's why we want to work with you.
We started Maluuba in our last term at UW and it's been an incredible life
changing journey since. We raised millions in VC investment from the
valley, got a small office, built some amazing technology, signed million
dollar deals (seriously) with some big names, now have a huge office with a
team of over 35+, and are one of the few UW start-ups* building next-gen
technology that even Google and Apple haven't built yet.*
You've worked hard at UW now it's time to reap the rewards. Join Maluuba to
build the next generation of voice search and NLP technologies. Your work
will impact millions of our customers, we've got a great fun group, provide
amazing lunches and dinners, and we pay well (and provide stock options
too). We're looking for the best and top talented computer science and
software engineers with immediate positions

Hello All,
Good news: We're hiring!
We’re looking to hire a group ( 3 - 5 ) junior/intermediate developers on a part time contract basis. We’re building real live commercial products, which means you can gain experience in a commercial environment, learn a few tricks, and develop real-world products that actually make a difference in peoples’ lives.
More good news: we’re flexible. So long as you give us advance notice, you can pretty much set your own hours (between 10 and 30 per week) and put them in at any time of day or night which you choose.
We’re looking to give people an opportunity to prove themselves. Commercial experience helps but it’s not a must. What is a must is that you know what you’re doing. The ideal candidate would have experience developing with as many of the following as possible: Java, Javascript (native and jQuery), Node.js and Meteor as well as other web technologies (CSS, HTML5, SQL, PHP). Experience with Agile and test driven development is desirable, but not essential, as is experience developing/implementing API’s.
We’re looking for you to start right away, and we have several months of work lined up - this ain’t no one and done contract. We’re offering $20 - $30 per hour, depending on experience and how you perform on a short development test.
Interviews start this week. Please send the following to znewsham(a)uwaterloo.ca:
1) Your CV / resumé
2) A sample of your best code - git repo, live site, zip file, whatever
3) A ranking of your top 5 skills (eg. 1. Java, 2. Javascript, 3. Breaking things, 4. Ruby, etc..)
4) 2 or 3 times when you’re free to meet for an interview this coming week
5) A link to the funniest thing you’ve seen online lately ( we’re always on the hunt for a good laugh )
This is the part where you get excited and apply.
Look forward to hearing from you!
Zack
Greetings,
*Do you love making games? Are you intrigued by the challenges of making
truly cross platform, high performance web games that scale?*
We have a limited number of funded graduate research positions, and
undergraduate part time jobs, available to work on making games as part of

with html and Javascript. Familiarity with Javascript libraries/languages
like three.js and D3.js, CSS3, and knowledge of other programming
languages, particularly Python and Java, is an asset.
You get to work with a great team, and learn about exciting research, while
showcasing your web development skills, and helping to make a new
generation of game.
We have very flexible hours and can structure the work around your school
schedule.
