Job Description: We are looking for a programmer interested in working part-time on web-based data visualization software. The position will involve working with existing open-source javascript and jquery plugins that facilitate the organization of video games research. You will need to become familiar enough with these plugins to create a single web-based implementation before moving on to the next plug-in. Knowledge in javascript and jquery, as well as an interest in data visualization and pattern recognition, is an asset.
About The Project: The Pattern Recognition And Games project (PRAGmatic) utilizes open-source, web-based data visualization tools to facilitate the study of video games. We have no preferred method of visualization. Instead, our content is the distribution of new tools to increase the level of interaction scholars have with the available data. The aim of PRAGmatic is to expose under-explored areas within games studies and foster the recognition of emergent trends in scholarship.
