Greetings to all members of the UW Computer Science Club! We hope your fall term is going smoothly, whether you are going through a co-op term or studying on campus (Hope your midterms went well!). Our goal as a club is to make sure that your fall term is memorable. We aim to run events and encourage students to connect and socialize, increase technical and academic interest with workshops and talks, and provide a safe academic learning and growth environment.

Prof Talk with Professor Shi Cao
Hello! Prof. Shi Cao is giving an informative and interactive talk about cognitive modelling and how AI can predict human behaviour. He will be talking about his research and the current state of the field. Food will be served after the event. Come join to learn more about this field or simply learn something new! [π―]

Project Program: Unity Workshop
[π]We are organizing a Unity workshop for Project Program! β¨β¨[β¨οΈ]What is Unity? Unity is a 2D & 3D game engine that has been around since 2005. Youβll be able to learn more about it if you havenβt heard of it before!
[π]In addition, you'll be learning about how to create create a game like rocket league!!
[π]Also, download LTS Release 2021.3.13f1 version of unity beforehand.

[π] workshop will also be streamed on zoom, and the zoom link will be posted 5 minutes before the event starts.

Project Program: Rust workshop
[π] We are organizing a Rust workshop for Project Program!
[β¨οΈ] What is Rust? Rust is a new multi-paradigm, general-purpose programming language. Youβll be able to learn more about it if you havenβt heard of it before!
[π] In addition, you'll be learning about how to create a command line interface and will be able to create a command line interface program by the end of the workshop.
[π ] Date: November 17th, from 7PM to 9PM
[π] Location: PHY 150, and also remote on Zoom. The zoom link will be provided on the day on our social media and our discord.
Alt-Tab Speaker Applications
[ποΈ] Alt-Tab is back! Join CSC for a lightning tech talk series presented by students. Alt-Tab consists of 10 to 15-minute talks about anything related to tech. We will be holding Alt-Tab in-person in late November, most likely on Tuesday Nov. 29 in the evening.
[π] We are currently looking for speakers! If you're passionate about a technical topic and interested in public speaking, please apply by filling out the form below. You don't need to have prior experience, and Alt-Tab is a great way to get started with giving talks!
[π] You can talk about cool new features, a fun project you made, or really anything related to technology or computer science that you are excited about! For inspiration, past talks have covered topics including TypeScript, Unicode, virtual escape rooms, quantum computers, competitive programming, cryptography, and automatic differentiation.
