We are looking for one or two people with basic knowledge of objective-c to turn a medical handbook into a medical resource app. The content is from University of Calgary's Black Book - a pocketbook of flow-charts for doctors-in-training. It was created by hundreds of students and faculty on a volunteer basis over the past four years. It currently ships over a thousand copies a year to only a handful of Canadian medical schools. We are working on a project, with the University of Calgary's support,  to create an app version, initially for iOS and hopefully expanding to Android/ BB / html5 with the idea of distributing it across North America.

This project already has valuable content created and a guaranteed user base. Yes it's a volunteer project, none of us are paid, but a fantastic resume building opportunity. Also a great chance to get experience in med-tech, a now massively VC-funded area, if you think a startup is in your future. I anticipate a maximum of 50 hours start to finish for someone with basic objective-c knowledge (or two friends who want to work together) working at their own pace with a 2 month project deadline.

Have a great weekend!
